Greetings from the desert southwest, and the only airport in our Chapter with palm trees in the parking lot . . .

As our Chapter’s incoming President, I am honored and excited to serve our organization over the next twelve months. As you all know, our Chapter has gone through a significant transition period over the recent months, a transition that has been expertly navigated by outgoing President Tom Binford. Indeed, in the recent history of our Chapter the challenges we faced were like no other, and I’d ask each of you to express your appreciation to Tom for a job well done.

During my tenure, I will strive to build upon the efforts of Tom and other past Chapter leaders, and continue the development of chapter services and benefits. My overarching desire is to ensure the strength and sustainability of our organization, and help all members realize the personal and professional benefits that come with Chapter membership. To that end, I have developed a list of goals that I intend to pursue during the upcoming year, goals which I hope each of you will support and help me achieve:

  • Enhance the currency and availability of membership information

  • Increase the frequency of communications to the members regarding current Chapter and national AAAE events, issues and challenges.

  • Improve the information value of our conferences to our members, and the financial value of these conferences to the Chapter.

  • Engage new members in our Chapter, particularly the up and coming airport professionals that abound at many airports in our region.

  • Identify and help develop individuals who can serve as future leaders in our Chapter and in the National AAAE organization.

  • Assist and mentor Chapter members through the AAAE Accreditation process.

These goals are broad and ambitious, but I’m optimistic that pursuit of their completion will help make our Chapter an even stronger and more cohesive group than it’s ever been before. Although our Chapter may be small in numbers, we’re large geographically, and I think larger still in our dedication to our profession and to each other.
Again, I look forward to serving our Chapter, and working with all of you over the coming year. I would encourage you to contact me at anytime with your questions, ideas, suggestions or concerns at (435) 634-5822, or via email to dulane@infowest.com.
